Vita

Charlott Hübel has been a research associate at the Center for Sustainable Leadership (ZNU) since November 2021 and is member of the research project “Biodiversity Valuing and Valuation” (BioVal). In the project, researchers and companies are jointly developing solutions to reduce negative impacts on biodiversity caused by food along its life cycle.

In addition, she is doing her PhD at the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) at Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. In her doctoral thesis, she examines the role of established companies in advancing industry transformations towards sustainability. Her analysis focus in the meat industry. Until February 2021, in the context of her PhD, she was member of the transdisciplinary research project “Processes of Sustainability Transformation”. Subsequently, she was responsible for the research transfer in the alternative protein business unit of the PHW group.

Before her doctoral studies, she completed the “Master of International Business and Sustainability” (MIBAS) at Universität Hamburg. In her master’s thesis, she developed a framework at the intersection between sustainable leadership and transdisciplinarity. Already in her bachelor’s studies in International Tourism Management, she focused on sustainability issues and explored drivers and barriers of a sustainable tourism development.
