Vita
Julius Wenzig has been a research associate at ZNU since November 2015 (with a short interruption) and has been heading the research department together with Verena Timmer since 2023. A lighthouse project from his time at ZNU is the BMBF research project "BioVal", in which solutions are being developed to reduce the negative impact of food on biodiversity along the value chain. Together with companies, it is being investigated how they can contribute to the promotion of biodiversity along the product life cycle, anchor this in management and communicate it. In another project, a sustainability cluster for spices was developed and proposals for more sustainable supply chain management were developed.

Dr. Julius Wenzig is also an independent consultant and expert in sustainability reporting as well as sustainability measurability and assessment of companies and products. He is an economist with a focus on sustainable development and works in various research projects, advising companies, policy makers and non-governmental organizations.

At the same time he is doing his PhD on Sustainability Accounting at the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) of the Leuphana University Lüneburg and worked there in the project "Sustainable Corporate Management through Integrative Controlling".

He completed his Master's degree in management at the University of Witten/Herdecke with a thesis on the influence of norms on the consumption of local food. In his bachelor's degree, Julius Wenzig studied international business at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences with study and practice periods at ESIC Madrid in Spain and at Volkswagen in Mexico.
